"Lady and the Tramp", the first cartoon in CinemaScope format (cinema format aspect ratio of 2.55:1). However, the original cartoon was developed in the usual Disney format 4:3, and only after a while it was decided to refocus on the growing popularity of CinemaScope (however, some widespread and version 4:3). As a result, the artists hastily had to finish (to expand) and to change the configuration of scenes. Indirect evidence that originally the cartoon was not widescreen — high static background and concentration of the action in right, left or Central parts of the scene.

The final version is slightly different from planned. Original story (1930s — early 40s) didn't contain the character of a Tramp in the form in which it can be seen in the cartoon. According to one version, the story was focused on the Lady and her two admirers — the Russian wolfhound Boris and a homeless dog Homer, and as the main negative characters were Siamese cats and a rat. Later, the wolfhound Boris still appears in the cartoon as a minor character. His name Tramp received before his name was bozo, Rags and Homer.

Laughing hyenas were later reused in the Disneyland attraction "It's a small world" and in the video game series for the PlayStation "Crash Bandicoot".

One of the authors of music for a cartoon, jazz singer Peggy Lee, and later filed a lawsuit against Disney. In 1991, she managed to recover with compensation in the amount of 2.3 million dollars.

The beaver from "lady and the Tramp" is the prototype of another classic disney character — whistling gopher from "Winnie the Pooh".

The popularity of the cartoon resulted in the publication of a series of comics "Naughty" (eng. Scamp), which tells of the adventures of a puppy lady and the Tramp. The comics were published from 1955 to 1988, and subsequently based on these comics was acquitted of the continuation of the picture — "Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's adventure" (2001).

Jock, peg and a Trustee was seen in the cartoon "Oliver and company" (1988) 00:11:21.

Tony in the restaurant from the back entrance, hang posters indicating the possible date and time of the events in the cartoon — "OPEN HOUSE Apr 26-27 UNCLE TOMS CABIN" ("open doors Day on April 26-27..." and "UNCLE TOMS CABIN opera HOUSE aug. 6-8" ("Opens at the Opera house in August 6-8").

Judging by the second cartoon, the first action starts about 24 December 1908 and ends in about 24 Dec 1910.

Sarah and her "angels" are an allusion to the novel Jane Eyre (step-aunt of the heroine of the same name).

At first the Lady was only one dog-a neighbor named Hubert, but Hubert was later replaced by Jock and the Trustee.

There are several deleted scenes, which never saw the light. The first of them — "nightmare Lady" — her fear towards the human child, realized in the form of a "parade of children's shoes" (similar to the parade of pink elephants in "Dumbo"). Another deleted scene, special interest — episode "world of dogs" — dreams of the Tramp about an alternate reality in which not the people are the masters of dogs, but rather dogs are the masters of the people.

Some minor characters have undergone significant changes in the course of work on the cartoon. So, the Siamese cats si and Am were originally planned as a much more sinister characters with racist overtones. Aunt Sarah was a harsh mother-in-law is a tyrant without a single positive quality. Rat, symbolizing, cartoon evil, was originally a comic character.

There is a legend according to which the beginning of "lady and the Tramp" episode with a Christmas gift — has a real basis. According to this legend, the Walt Disney company has forgotten about the date with my wife and wanting to make amends, gave her a puppy. However, the veracity of this story is subject to serious doubt — most likely, the legend was invented to the public after leaving the Studio, Joe Grant — original inspirer.

Animator Wolfgang Reitherman watched live rodents in the process of working on the culminating scene cartoon scene of battle Tramp with the rat.

Many significant figures of the Disney company, including Walt himself, admitted that "Lady and the Tramp", the first cartoon, which is clearly implied love scene. The situation was complicated by the fact that, formally, according to the story, Lady and the Tramp was not spouses and any elements of "sex before marriage" in the movies at that time were not approved by Hollywood. "Lady and the Tramp" was the exception, and not least due to the fact that the main characters are not people, and dogs.

The episode with a romantic dinner in the backyard of the restaurant "Tony" was used in the parody movie "Hot shots 2" (1993) with Charlie sheen and Valeria Golino, in the movie "101 Dalmatians" (1996), in the cartoon "the Adventures of Emperor 2: the adventure Kronka" (2005) and in the movie "Underdog" (2007).

The original finale of the cartoon was much more tragic — Trustee died, trying to stop the crew of the Drifter heading to a dog shelter. However, Walt Disney, not wanting a repeat of the events related to "Bambi", "raised up" Trustee in the final scene, implying that he only broke his leg.
