1940. Northwest Vietnam. Was forcibly given in marriage to a girl Mi from the Hmong people (the Vietnamese call them the people IU, the Chinese Miao). Slavish and hopeless was her life with the unloved husband. But once she met and fell in love with the poor, but freedom-loving guy, And so on. Revolutionary changes in the country helped the young couple to rise up against the hated oppressors, which, together with the French colonial conquerors kept in fear and obedience of ordinary people. Responding to the call of the national liberation movement, the young couple And Fu joins the rebels against the French in August 1945.
