The film takes the second place in the "most outstanding movies of all time", compiled by the American film Institute in 2006.
During one of the initial scenes of Harper Lee visited the set. Scene of the return of Atticus Finch's home was caused by Harper Lee tears so Gregory peck was like her father. By the way, "Finch" is the second name of the father Lee.
Phillip Alford, who played Jim, didn't want to go auditioning for the role. And only after his mother said that in this case, he legally will be able to skip school, he agreed.
The interior of the courthouse is a replica of the interior of the courthouse from his home town of Harper Lee, Monroeville (Alabama). Photographers from the Studio specifically went there before the shooting.
The original candidate for the role of Atticus Finch was the actor Rock Hudson.
In the novel Harper Lee, in the episode, when Atticus shoots the mad dog, the author focuses on the speed of the shot "Atticus, it seems, and throwing up his rifle failed, and at the same moment pulled the trigger", at the time, as in the film, he takes aim for a long time.
