The Addams family is not your typical family: delight them with things that "normal" people would be scared. Gomez Adams is an extremely wealthy man and is able to pander to every desire of his wife Morticia, be it cultivation of poisonous plants or a candlelit dinner in a graveyard. People visiting the Addams house, only at first glance do not shock the grim meter tall Butler Lurch or the living hand in a box, referred to as just "thing".

To apply Carolyn Jones (1930-1983) makeup Morticia, took 2 hours. The wig, in which she starred, was made of human hair.
John Estino suggested two names for his character, and he chose the name Rapelli the name Gomez. His son was initially supposed to be called Pubert, but because of the similarity with the word "puberty" it was called Pugsley.
As Things were, as a rule, the hand of Ted Cassidy. When he himself had to be in the picture in the role of Larch, Thing was the hand of the assistant producer Jack Vagina.
First, John Astin auditioned for the role of Butler Larch.
Lurch plays the harpsichord for the fictitious company Krupnik.
