About the childhood years of the famous Soviet film Director Oleksandr Dovzhenko, who was born in the ancient Chernihiv land along the Gums. The film consists of two parts. The first is the world shown through the experiences of six Sashko. Second the memories and reasoning Sashko, now a middle-aged Colonel, which exempts during the war, his native village.
