The film adaptation of the play became possible only after twenty years. The reason for this was the topic raised by the author (adultery, incest, and illegitimate children), which has been banned in accordance with cinematic Hays code, which operated until 1967.

Most historians dispute the fact that the father of the children of Mary Boleyn was king Henry. He officially recognized his son from his previous mistress, Bessie Blount, but children Mary such attention is not provided.

It is doubtful that in 1527 Anne Boleyn was eighteen years old. The exact date of her birth is unknown and generally indicated period from 1501 to 1507. in addition, Anne returned from France in approximately 1522 and relationship with king began not later than 1525.

In one of the scenes appears actress Elizabeth Taylor (in the credits is not specified), at that time wife of Richard Burton.

Henry was not present at the trial of Anne and met with her shortly before the execution. The last time they saw each other the day before her arrest. Anna never offered freedom in exchange for giving up all rights to her and Elizabeth. Whatever it was, the marriage of Anne and Henry was annulled on 17 may 1536, and Elizabeth, like Mary, eldest daughter of the king, was declared illegitimate (although still listed among heirs), and her chances of inheriting the crown of England then seemed very bleak.

There is no evidence that Anne influenced the king's decision to execute sir Thomas more.

Mary Tudor was not present at the death of his mother, Catherine of Aragon. Henry forbade them to see each other, and correspond, in the summer of 1531.
