In the summer of 1540 during the reign of Charles V, in Cusco from a trip to the South, returned don Pedro de Valdivia with five wounded soldiers. They are the only survivors. A few days later, having recovered from his wounds, Pedro de Valdivia decided to make a new attempt the conquest of Chile.
