Freestyle adaptation of the novel by R. L. Stevenson "the Keeper of Ballantrae". The action moved to Mexico in the 60-ies of the last century. James, one of the sons of the Seigneur de Osanto, goes to war against the French that support of the Emperor Maximilian. Soon comes the news of his death. Remaining in the estate of the younger son of the Seigneur Enrique becomes the heir and marries fiancée Alicia James. But information about the death of his older brother turn out to be false.
