Plot Summary
Did You Know?
Originally it was planned to give the role of Sarah (girlfriend suzy Bannon) Daria Nikolodi, but due to injuries Darya during the filming plan was not implemented.
The original idea of Dario Argento apprentice ballet school were to be girls under the age of 12. That's what they were in the original script of the film. However, the Studio and Executive producer Salvatore Argento (father of the Director) refused to implement this plan, believing that the film, which constitute the basis of demonstration of brutal murders of children, of course, prohibited. Then Dario Argento raised the age limit heroines to 20 years that gave the opportunity to launch the film into production.
The role of suzy Bannon was initially offered to actress Tina Aumont, best known for playing Henrietta in Federico Fellini's film "Casanova of Fellini" (1976). However, due to the heavy workload she was unable to accept the offer.
The name of the old woman who played Helena Marcos in the credits is not specified. Jessica Harper argued that it was a 90-year-old ex-hooker Dario Argento found on the streets of Rome, and called in his film. Voiced the role of Darius Nikolodi.
For this film Dario Argento wrote and recorded together with the rock group "Goblin" terrible and heartbreaking music directly during filming, included on the set on full power to ensure from the actors genuine fright and games to the limit nerves.
The whisper that is heard on the soundtrack of the film on the background of the whimsical music of the band "Goblin" is the voice of the composer and keyboardist
In the film there is a moment when the ornament is broken off the glass pen. This is a reference to the directorial film debut of Dario Argento spaghetti-horror "Bird with the crystal plumage" (1970).
In the initial scene of the film in a glass partition in the taxi, you notice the reflection of the person of Dario Argento. The Director later claimed that it was intentional, but maybe that's just an excuse to justify the shooting error.
