A young woman Dorothea quits his job for his dream — to study theater with the Director Herman, Director of the "Theatre matters". He's working on a play by Schiller and Bacau and promises her the role of Caterina de Medici in "Mary Stuart". She believes it, but gradually lose hope and compromise
