Plot Summary

In 1939 Veniamin Fleischman began writing one-act Opera based on the novel by Chekhov's "Rothschild's Fiddle," but in 1941 among the first volunteers from the Komsomol brigade went to the front and died in the battles of the Red village. His teacher Dmitri Shostakovich considered it his duty to complete and orchestrate the Opera, thus, immortalized its author, who died early.
