At the Villa of a rich family Kodesh occurs a quarrel between father and son, who wants to marry a decent, but poor girl. The father threatens the son, and he to revenge leaves home. Desperate to return his son, the father appealed for help to the neighbor's family Orlikov. Orlik tells his own story of how he, a rich merchant in love with a simple girl.
