Plot Summary

The film is set in the 1880-ies. The widow of captain Errol, youngest son of the Earl of Dorincourt, in America Ekes out a miserable existence with his son Cedric. The count sends his attorney Haversham to bring their kid to the UK, as he is his only heir, and prepare him to accept the title of Lord Fauntleroy. The widow's son goes overseas, but forced to live separately from Cedric, as the count doesn't like her, considering that she married his son out of greed. Childlike Cedric charms of the count, but soon the title begins to apply a certain woman named Minna, who claims that her child is the offspring of the eldest son of the count. Fortunately things work out well — the widow reconciled with the Earl, and Cedric gets the title.
