Betty Overton is in love with Uberto of Richmond, but their happiness is hindered by the destruction of her uncle. Older James Agar, who has always loved Betty, but did not show their feelings, Betty offers to marry him to help his uncle. She agrees, but Agar understands that Richmond loves Betty.
