Through the Back Door

In 1903 Hortense Bodamer, widow of a Belgian native, married to a rich American Elton Reeves and his insistence on leaving his daughter Jeanne in the care of a babysitter named Marie. Five years later she sends for her daughter, but Marie, who had become attached to the girl, said that Jeanne died. In 1914, because of German invasion in Belgium, Marie sends Jeanne to Risam in America. At first, the girl hides his true name and becomes a maid in the house of his mother, but then her origin is revealed, and be a happy family reunion.
