Maytime

The heiress Ottili van Zandt falls in love with Richard Wayne, son of the gardener. The couple swears to each other eternal love, but the girl's father forbids her to marry a man of low status. Richard goes to the West and cobble together a fortune. Upon his return, he discovers that Ottili was married to her cousin Claude, too, and marries another, but despite this, separated the pair maintains feelings for each other till the end of life.
