Jamil soldiers in the army of the Bedouins during the war between Syria and Turkey, who left his unit. In a remote village he meets an American missionary, Dr. Gilbert and his daughter Mary, who teach the children in an orphanage. The village attacked the Turks, and the local Governor, in an effort to appease the invaders, intends to transfer their children to death, disguising their intentions, they were sent to Damascus for safety.
