Visages d'enfants

The film is set in a small Alpine village of Saint-Luc. The local mayor Pierre Amsler his wife dies, leaving him two children, 11-year-old Jean and 4-year-old Pierrette. Pierre could not accept the fact that his house was empty. A year later he again married, taking his wife Jeanne Dutoit, widow with daughter Arlette — the same age as Jean. And the stepmother and her daughter cause a sharp rejection of a nervous and sensitive Jean, who still could not recover from the terrible shock caused by the death of his mother. His relationship with Arlette go first to dislike and then to hatred
