The film was shot in color captured German film, "Agfa". Installation and voicing were carried out in Berlin, as it had the necessary equipment. According to the operator Michael Poselsky, after the movie was filmed, it turned out that a large part of the tape has a marriage in color. For this reason, the entire film was transferred to black-and-white film, and made of the same material which came in as, has mounted a 19-minute film.

Stalin was unhappy with the film, as in the picture included two of the ten commanders of the fronts — generals of the army Bagramyan and Andrey Eremenko (later Marshal of the Soviet Union). In order to correct the mistake, it was decided to shoot the missing footage. In 1984 he was released on cinema screens "tweaked" version of the black-and-white film, which was removed part propaganda, part of the narration and pieces of the performances of Georgy Zhukov, glorifying the Supreme Commander Marshal Stalin. In 2004 has been restored color version of the film, the restoration of the film produced by the Russian state archive of cinema and photo documents. Marshal Georgy Zhukov took the parade on the red square sitting on silver-white horse. This color was not chosen by accident, this color symbolizes victory and glory.
